Chris Depoian
Friday August 16th
Chris has been performing and writing songs for most of his life. His love for music started at an early age when he would watch his dad’s band perform and loved the way the kick drum rattled his rib cage. In his teen years, he began honing his craft as a singer/songwriter and guitarist, playing a supporting role in many bands while fronting an indie-rock band. That journey has taken him to arenas, living rooms, and everything in between across the Midwest and a song collaboration that made it to ESPN. As a solo artist, Depoian’s songwriting influences include Coldplay, John Mayer, Radiohead, Stevie Wonder, and a slew of other artists from the dawn of rock n' roll through today. In the summer of '23, Cities 97 featured Depoian as an artist for their annual Oake on the Water summer concert series. Take a listen to his tunes and connect with him on socials! https://linktr.ee/depoian

Matt Yetter
Friday August 30th
Matt Yetter is the real deal: an old-school, slide guitar playing, harmonica-tooting country blues artist who characterizes music as “a way of making a connection to everybody all at once”.
Based out of Minnesota for the past 30 years, Matt only discovered he could sing in 2010 after years of playing electric lead guitar and mandolin in bands. He ventured out on his own with his resophonic slide guitar, harmonica, and newfound vocal skills… and delighted audiences. In came accolades and more opportunities to perform solo – which brought with it a positive energy that didn’t compare to being in a group – and Matt was hooked.
Regularly playing old-time, rootsy blues from the 1920s, 30s, and 40s all around Minneapolis, Matt’s created his own niche – a vibe that’s hard to come across anywhere else. Like many other jazz and blues musicians, Matt’s ideology is to “carry on the tradition of the music, do your own versions of some of the classic songs and make them your own, as well as contribute to the tradition.” That’s what he’s doing, from the jangle and slide of his guitar and the croon of his harmonica to his rich, compelling vocals.
“Making kids and their parents dance and smile over and over again makes me feel I'm doing something right,” says Matt. The proof is in the pudding, and Matt Yetter’s pudding is one helluva crowd favorite
